Tdarr is an optional app in Apps → Add Tdarr and the setup wizard. Saving starts its managed container. Stackarr uses the current ghcr.io/haveagitgat/tdarr:latest image for AMD64 and ARM64, with an image override in advanced settings.
The local dashboard is http://127.0.0.1:8265. The API uses port 8266. Both bind to loopback by default. Portless provides https://tdarr.stack with the default host suffix. Cloudflare routing is opt-in through Remote access; expose the web UI, not the node API port.
Storage and processing
- The configured media folder mounts at
/media. - The transcode cache mounts at
/tempand defaults toAPP_ROOT/cache/tdarr. - Server state, its embedded SQLite database, node configuration, and logs live in
CONFIG_ROOT/tdarr. - Configuration backups include Tdarr's persisted state. Temporary transcodes are outside configuration backups.
Tdarr does not support Stackarr's shared PostgreSQL backend. It retains its upstream SQLite backend in either Stackarr database mode.
An internal CPU worker is included and starts paused. Choose library subfolders, processing rules, and a schedule in Tdarr before resuming it. Stackarr does not automatically scan or transcode existing media, change Arr ownership, or import downloads. External nodes must use the same media and cache mappings and the managed API key.
GPU devices are not added by default. Docker Desktop on macOS does not expose Apple VideoToolbox to Linux containers; this integration uses CPU processing. Hardware acceleration on a supported Linux host requires an explicit runtime device configuration. See upstream hardware instructions.
Authentication and tools
Authentication is enabled by default. Stackarr generates a tapi_ API key and shares it with the internal node. stackarr tdarr configure creates the first account using Stackarr's shared username and password, verifies login, and preserves any existing account. API keys are redacted from settings responses and omitted from generated Compose environment files.
The service exposes these bounded MCP actions when Tdarr is enabled and selected:
stackarr_get_tdarr_statusstackarr_list_tdarr_librariesstackarr_list_tdarr_nodesstackarr_pause_tdarr_node
The pause action stops a node accepting new work; an active job may finish. Resume workers through Tdarr after reviewing library processing settings.
stackarr tdarr status
stackarr tdarr enable
stackarr tdarr apply
stackarr tdarr configure
stackarr tdarr disable
stackarr tdarr applyDisabling and applying removes the container and retains its configuration. Dashboard saves also apply enabled/disabled state. Use stackarr portless apply on the host to refresh friendly routes after adding an app when the dashboard reports a host action.
See the official Docker setup, authentication, and current Tools → API Docs inside Tdarr. The bundled upstream logo is used for the app card.
